Villains Don't Cry

In every movie and story, there's always two sides of the conflict
There is the protagonist and the antagonist
And they fight over something of meaning

The hero is always in the spotlight, and the villain in the dark night
There's got to [C7]be [Am]contɾast, of the two parts
So that the hero is ɾecognized and [Bm]loved

But do you [A7ɾealize, that the villain may have just chosen the wrong [Am]path
Not given a chance, but instead, cornered and [Bm]scrutinized

And you [A7thought
That villains don't cry
They don't need to [C7]dry their eyes
That they are always on [C7]a high
When they hurt you, they are insanely satisfied

The villains don't cry
They just want to [C7]set you [A7on [C7]fire
That it's not lonely to [C7]hide in the endless night
There's not a single stɾip of kindness within them [A]to [C7]ignite

We are all [Em]heroes and [Bm]villains all [Em]in one
Which side is more apparent through time?
Who will lose in battle and [Bm]be [Am]in its prime?
You are too naïve if you [A7believe that villains don't cry
