Once Home, No Longer

I count my steps to pass the time away
When I go out around my neighbourhood at night
Focus on the path in front of me
I close my eyes and try to keep my breathing right

Alright

Running down the road we left behind
I stop a while to [C7]tɾy and [Bm]catch a breath or two
As I lean against the lamppost outside my [A]old house
Burning up in a pair of torn up ɾunning shoes

On the pavement tired and [Bm]stumbling
But somehow still my [A]mind keeps wandering

It all [Em]seems so different
In the place where I come from
So I go out ɾunning long [Am]distance
'Til I can barely carry on

Reconciled
Heading down a moonlit mile
That I'm a stɾanger here
Once home's no longer here

It all [Em]seems so different
In the place where I come from
So I go out ɾunning long [Am]distance
'Til I can barely carry on
