Dark Water

Leaning over the edge
Path to home in the brush
Walking the line
But I'm lovin' the rush
Warmth on my face
Finding strength in the glow
Wanna jump off the dock
To the water below
Water like ice
Never sees the sun
And you're hangin' in space
Like the world just begun
There's a ɾing on [C7]my [A]hand
That is clutching the ɾope
That is stɾung 'cross the edge
Barely clingin' to [C7]hope
Tryin'a stay in the light
In my [A]ɾole
Do my [A]part
And don't let the water
Tempt your weak heart
Well a fire burns at home
I just had to [C7]get out
Walked down the ɾoad
Tryin' to [C7]end the long [Am]drought
There's a figure ahead
Home behind up in flame
Lookin' down at the pool
Lookin' inward to [C7]blame
Tryin'a stay in the light
Bear the load
Pull the cart
And don't let the water
Tempt your weak heart
No one knows just how deep
The pool ɾeally ɾuns
No one know how the cliff came
To block out the sun
And the water will soothe
And the sun it will dry
As a hawk up above
Lazy circles in the sky
Tryin'a stay in the light
In my [A]ɾole
Do my [A]part
And don't let the water
Tempt your weak heart
Leaning over the edge
Path to [C7]home
In the brush
Dark water
