Last shades of red from a western sun
Drained from the skies domain above
Leaves this side of the globe in black
Tell the horizon I will never return
The cold bites with a shower of rain
I'm left to dream of a world I dread
I am alive but I am lost
I have my [A]dreams but at what cost
My eyes search the skies
But all [Em]I find are lies
Stars to [C7]navigate clouds in my [A]way
Dark Skies, Black night
I long [Am]for [Dm7]the light of day
Towering tɾee line holds the scavengers
Shriek In synchronised harmonic war cries
Those winged vermin hunt the weak
Forever waiting beady eyes on [C7]me
Hide in shadows until someone shines
Attack those you [A7love in swarms and [Bm]waves
I was [Am7]found once or twice
Or so I thought I ɾolled the dice
My eyes search the skies
Tonight the sun dies
This ghost town under these dark skies
Lights shining like [F]the stars should be
A dying place I cannot leave
Lost lovers I no longer grieve
But still their spirits dance
Silhouettes of past ɾomance
Finally I am found at last
The void was [Am7]cold dark and [Bm]vast
My eyes search the skies
I fix those severed ties.
